I was just thinking…these stars are costing me a lot of bucks!

 I miss my latte though…

Yep, I do miss them. When I was living in Houston, TX, I had a Starbucks right around the corner of my neighborhood. In less than 5 minutes, I was there! At the time, they had a coffee drink that I was totally addicted to. It was called Mocha Valencia. It was well, you guessed it, Mocha with Valencia Syrup, (Orange flavor)! YUM!

LOOOOOVED IT! Just like some people are addicted to E S P R I T, (wait, that’s me…!), I was addicted to Starbucks Coffee, The Mocha Valencia, (wait, that’s me again!). I was so addicted to this syrup that because I was such a loyal customer of that particular Starbucks I used to go, once, twice, 3 times a day…they gave me the last Syrup bottle they had…as a gift. THEY DID! No joke.

I don’t have anymore my Mocha Valencia days. Nowadays, it’s a Tall Vanilla Latte…good enough to motivate me to drive to my nearest Starbucks which is about 15-20 minutes way from my town! This is a picture of my Starbucks…

The Starbucks in Aarau, Aargau, Switzerland. It’s about 15 minutes from where I live. I took this photo about 2 months ago. That’s how often I go…

The killer move in Starbucks? The price! It’s outrageous! I live in Switzerland which means that we use the Swiss Franc, which means that we’re not in dire straits like some of Switzerland’s European neighbors, nope…not at all! It’s très cher here, and with très cher comes “le big price tag”…on everything! (Love my Franglish???)

Let’s take the Latte Americano, for example. In the US, it will cost less than 2 bucks depending on the size, right? A Tall Vanilla Latte in Switzerland will cost me around 7 bucks…7 bucks! Let’s see. What can I get in the US with 7 bucks? Might as well round it to 10 bucks! What can I get for 10 bucks??? Oh, the possibilities!!! Here? Not so much.

Yep, I miss my Lattes! I used to have 2, sometimes 3 in a day, depending on the day, of course, ’cause sometimes I would have a great day sale and sometimes I would have, “I hate that $@%#$!” day, so depending on the day…that’s how much I would have. Boy…those days are over. I miss those days. Who knew?

Now, I go into a Starbucks…once in a blue moon…really blue moon. I know it’s not the end of the world, but it’s true when they say, “a dime a dozen”! Here I say, “A penny saved is a penny earned” because a cup of coffee will cost me “an arm and a leg”!

I’m still gonna drink my Vanilla Latte, you know, (in a month or two…or 3, make it 3).

I was just thinking…
