It’s a working process…but a pretty one!

 About my sketches…

I don’t think I would have been able to make my sketches come true if I didn’t have the help of my templates. I didn’t go to school to learn sketching, instead, I just went for it and jumped the gun. Anyone can draw, but when it comes to sketching designs, I wanted to know more than just the basics.

My first encounter was FASHIONARY. I ordered it immediately and I got into sketching within a week! The great thing about FASHIONARY is that it’s almost like an all inclusive reference sketch notebook. It comes with tons of references related to this wonderful field of fashion. I’m constantly looking at these pages for information so it’s definitely a great asset to me. The templates are pretty basic, so for those starting to sketch is a plus!  Here’s a picture of what it looks like.

By the way, I already finished this book, but here is a sample page…

As the year went by, I wanted to improve my designs by giving them more stylish looks and poses. With that in mind I found The FASHION SKETCHPAD. Now, this sketchbook will help you build a portfolio as well. The bonus…? It has about 420 figure templates with different outlines, in other words, a variety of “strike-a-pose” figure looks for your designs which I really enjoy, unlike FASHIONARY, where the templates are all same pose.

À mon avis, I enjoy using both sketchbooks therefore having more options as to designing what I already have in mind. If you’re interested in doing what I do, don’t you worry for there are tons of sketchpads available in the market to cater all levels of expertise.

To learn more about these sketchbooks, visit their respective websites by going to my “FASHION TARTE” Page. At the bottom of that page you will find the category “sketchbooks” and voilà!

I leave you now with some sketches I just draw for this article…hope you like’em!

This is the song that popped into my head when I wrote the article…
