I love brownies. Brownies are like an old time favorite movie classic. You can watch it, over and over and over and…you get it. Who does not love a sweet, chewy-chocolaty brownie? Ok, don’t answer that. Still, it’s one of my daughter’s favorite things to eat, and since I haven’t written about brownies yet, I thought it was time to post it.
This is my own brownie recipe. I came up with this one while tinkering with an old one. I hope you give it try and let me know if it works for you too.
Homemade Brownie Recipe
Ingrendients:
125-150 grams of dark chocolate. Use at least 60% Cocoa. (I used Cailler’s 64% Cocoa Chocolate bar. Use the amount at your discretion. I took a 200 grams bar of chocolate and use 3/4 of it).
1 stick of butter at room temperature or cut into pieces.
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of all purpose flour (sifted)
1 cup of raw sugar (or caster sugar)
2 eggs
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and dust it with flour (or cocoa powder). You can use an 8″ round cake pan or an 8x8x2 square pan. Here’s a picture of the one I used.
Put aside. In a bain-marie, you melt the chocolate. To the melted chocolate, add the butter. Incorporate the chocolate and the butter. Remove from the bain-marie. Put aside.
Now, we move on to the rest of the ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together the sifted flour, salt and baking powder. Put aside.
In another bowl, break the 2 eggs and whisk for about 2 minutes. Take a little bit of the sugar and add it to the eggs. Then add more sugar; do this until you have it all combined. Finally, add the vanilla.
To this mixture, you will add (simultaneously) the dry and melted chocolate ingredients. The batter will become very thick. This is normal.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes. I checked mine at 30 minutes. I left them for 2 more minutes. Then I took them out. Let them cool for about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove them from the pan.
Here’s the video of the song I was listening to while making them!
