Gobble gobble gobble…McDonalds!

To all Americans around the World, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I do wonder about the Americans that live outside of the USA. Do they substitute Turkeys for something else? Wondering if you’re in China, can you find a Turkey? How about in Russia, would you be able to find a little bit of a Turkey? Here in Switzerland, you can find a little bit of “Pavo” but not a whole Turkey to gobble down with the normal fixings. Yep, it’s hard! But hey, look at the bright side….I give thanks to God for McDonalds making it all the way overseas. Why? Because, for Thanksgiving, we’re having a little bit of an iconic, pure, piece of American pie, and that’s called McDonalds. I “Hell yeah!” to that! It may not be the best representation whatsoever, but when you’re overseas, every little bit counts, at least for me it does. Besides, you wouldn’t believe me if I told you that McDonalds is a cool place to go for a quick eat!

McDonald’s in Switzerland is trending! T R E N D I N G! It’s a little known fact that here in Switzerland, well, the food looks very fresh, and tastes better than the one in the USA. Why? I ask myself the same question! Why is this so different from the USA, why? Don’t they know back home to serve us fresh food? Not to mention, how clean they are. The Music that plays, the Sports TV screen, the McCafé with an assortment of coffees and desserts….why can’t it be this great and nice back home? I don’t understand? Have we lower our standards that low? Well, I shouldn’t say that, look at me, here I am, about to have for “Thanksgiving” food McDonald’s. Maybe my circumstances are good enough to justify what some people may call it and injustice to a nice Thanksgiving Dinner feast. But in the end, I cannot, no matter how hard I could try, replicate our Thanksgiving Dinner feasts we were, for so many years, accustomed to. For pit’s sake, I need a Turkey! That’s the main attraction of it all! There are no Gobbles in Switzerland! Sorry, (to me!) and thank you McDonalds..for being here.

So, off we go to gobble, gobble, gobble this evening at McDonald’s. Let us just say that this is “our way” of giving thanks to what we have so far and enjoying a little bit of an “American fast food tradition” known as McDonalds…

I’m glad I got that out of my chest!

Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your “Black Friday” shopping sprees tomorrow!
