I “peach” myself on the back…

For this Peach Tarte Tatin!

I have never made a tart in my life. Never…ever! But I love ’em, so I thought maybe it was time for me to make one, or at least try. That, and the fact that my neighbor made one for me as a gift! Oh, it was soooo perfectly crisp, and buttery, cinnamon-ly superb, that I had to make one. I asked my neighbor for the recipe, but she didn’t have it because she’s French-Swiss and knows how to make these kinds of masterpieces since before she learned how to say bonjour.

I know, right?

It truly lasted 2 days!!! I craved more, so I looked for a recipe. Ah, do you know how many types of tarts exist??? Good grief! Finally, I found one I liked from Chef John at www.allrecipes.com

Now, this recipe calls for apples. I didn’t have apples, so I used peaches instead. Because I used ripe-peaches, I squeezed a little bit of lemon so that they would have a little bit of tartness to them. You don’t have to do this, but I’m happy I did.

Here are the steps in pictures…

This is how mine turned out!

Hey, for being the first time, I thought it came out all right. Why don’t you let me know what you think?

Simple!

I have a whale of a belly and cannot wait for this baby to pop out of my oven soon. Oh listen to me! What I’m trying to say is that I’ve been listening to some mellow music lately, and this is what I was listening to while making my Peach Tarte Tatin.
